Computer Programming

 About

:

Computer Programming Programme is an associate degree programme where the use of computers, software development, maintenance and repair of hardware, installation and management of computer networks are taught. This program trains qualified staff for the information technology departments of public and private companies.
* In this program, the training is provided by the second instruction.

Purpose

:

Goal of Computer Programming Programme is to train qualified staff for the information processing units of the public and private sector companies by maintaining data storage and processing, providing software solutions by programming or software packages, maintaining the installation and management demands of computer networks and internet.

Target

:

This programme aims to educate intermediate staff demanded by public and private companies,equipped with the knowledge of information technologies, who finds solutions to unexpected problems, who can follow the developing technology, who can think independently and has the ability to make analysis.




Acceptance Requirements

:

Students who have entered Higher Education Entrance Exam (YGS), held by öSYM, may have the right to sign up our department. Students which graduate from an appropriate department of a vocational high school may also have the chance of signing to our department without exam.

Graduation Requirements

:

Students who successfully complete all compulsory courses specified in the course plan and the minimum number of elective courses required; complete 120 ECTS credits and have a minimum CGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 will graduate.

Degree

:

Students who have succesfully graduated have the "Associate's Degree" and awarded "Technician" title.

Transition

:

Our graduate students have the chance to attend open education departments of the universities. Students may also have the chance to attend 4 year departments of the universities by the DGS exam.

Employement Opportunities

:

Students who graduate from Computer Programming program can work as computer programmer, computer operator or web designer. They can work in the information technology, communications and internet sector firms. They also have the opportunity of having their own job. They may also work on computer departments of any company.

Examination Evaluation

:

In addition to previously taken exams and course assessment, students are subject to one final examination. Each semester, students also take ??at least one midterm exam. In addition to exams, quizzes may be given without prior warning. At the beginning of the semester, the evaluation criteria (mid-term exam, homework, final exam, etc.) and their ratios are provided in the course curriculum and syllabus distributed to students and posted on the website. Final examinations are held on the dates announced by the Vocational School, at the specified place and time. Students' semester course grades, midterm exam grades, final exam grades, on-going course assessment grades, and attendance rules are given by the instructor in charge of the course. The courses that do not have a mid-term and/or final exam are determined by the Department Heads or the Vocational School Administrative Office. This information is shared with the Student Affairs’ Office and success in those courses is assessed according to the coursework that students carry out during the semester. The semester course grades, together with the evaluation criteria, are given by the course lecturer to the Vocational School Administrative Office. The student's average point which evaluated by midterm and final exam results is converted to letter notes by looking at the university regulations charts considering the classes' average. Student must satisfy the lowest DD note. Irregular attending students get DZ note and fail. FF is also a failing note.

In order to be entitled to receive an Associate Degree from Bartın University, the students are required; - To have a minimum CGPA of 2.00/ 4.00 - To complete all compulsory and elective courses specified in the course plan successfully to complete 120 ECTS credits. - To complete a 40-day-internship (if accepted).
